Sade Sati literally means "seven and a half" in Hindi, referring to the 7.5-year period when Saturn transits through three consecutive signs centred on your Moon sign. In Vedic astrology, the Moon represents your mind, emotions, and inner comfort. When Saturn — the planet of discipline, karma, and hard lessons — passes over this sensitive point, it creates a period of significant transformation.
The Three Phases of Sade Sati
Rising Phase (1st Dhaiya): Saturn enters the 12th house from your Moon sign. This phase often brings financial pressure, sleep disturbances, and a sense that resources are draining. It's the beginning of the transit, and the effects are usually milder than the peak.
Peak Phase (2nd Dhaiya): Saturn transits directly over your Moon sign. This is typically the most intense period. Emotional pressure, career challenges, relationship strain, and health issues can surface. However, this is also where the deepest growth happens.
